About Caryn B. Davis
Caryn B. Davis is an award-winning photographer, a journalist and a best-selling author. She began her career in the media three decades ago as a producer, writer and cameraperson of television documentaries, an experience that enhanced her ability to create engaging imagery through storytelling. She’s been working as a professional photographer since 2000, specializing in architecture, garden and travel photography. Drawing on her years of experience, creativity, solid technical skills and eye for composition, her images are imaginative, well crafted and communicate her clients’ vision.
Caryn’s career has spanned the globe taking her to over 50 countries. Her article and photographs of the Azores were featured in The New York Times travel section, and she was among 11 photographers selected out of 100 for the Architectural Photography Issue of Commercial Architecture magazine. Her first photography book, A Connecticut Christmas: Celebrating the Holiday in Classic New England Style, was commissioned by Globe Pequot, and is a best seller. It garnered high accolades in The New York Times and in 15 other newspapers and magazines nationwide. Additionally, Caryn was interviewed on several television stations and on NPR’s All Things Considered. She’s currently working on her second book, about Connecticut’s waterways, due out in 2020.
As a photojournalist, Caryn often combines her images with text and has created over 300 compelling articles on a variety of topics that have appeared more than 60 publications worldwide including, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Town & Country, Fine Art Connoisseur and New Zealand Geographic. She has conducted hundreds of interviews and has had the privilege of photographing and interviewing ocean explorer Dr. Robert Ballard; Lady Carnarvon of Downton Abbey’s Highclere Castle; NPR’s Faith Middleton; Wayne Carini from the TV show Chasing Classic Cars; Connecticut Senator Art Linares; Johnny Winter’s guitarist Paul Nelson; WTNH anchorwoman Ann Nyberg; "Zippy the Pinhead" cartoonist Bill Griffith; CEO Cindi Bigelow of Bigelow Tea; America’s Cup designer Olin Stephens, among many others.
